Admissions in US Schools

To be admitted to American flying schools, you should register with us and submit your application. Once you submit the application, it will be reviewed and evaluated. You will get a response from the school within five working days.

If you are approved, you will receive a preliminary approval letter and you will be instructed to pay your admission fee and submit your documents. Student loan and/or visa application (s) will be processed at this time by you.

If your application is denied, you will be informed of the reason for this and you may be eligible to reapply.

It is always a good idea to submit the following documents with your application:

International Students

  • Copies of your academic certificates
  • Recommendation letters
  • Copy of a valid Passport
  • Proof of ability to pay tuition fee; such as a bank letter or statement.
  • If under 21, you should also have an affidavit of support from your parents/guardian
  • Class II Medical Certificate by DGCA or better
  • Copies of flight training records, if any
  • Complete the TSA application.

Note: The above mentioned documents will be required if your application is accepted.

Medical Certificate

An FAA medical certificate is required to ensure you can fly safely as a pilot. Even though a Class III medical certificate is required to complete your training, it is a good idea to obtain a Class I certificate since it will be required for most professional pilot positions. If you are aware of any health problems, you should obtain your medical certificate before you go any further.

The certificate is a simple medical exam to ensure you are physically fit to fly; it must be conducted by an FAA approved doctor. When you deposit the part payment of fee with school, you would be issued an I-20 form , which would make you eligible for M-1 visa.

Visa Information

Tifin Aviation and Maunaloa Helicopters Pilot Schools are authorized by the department of Home Land Security to sponsor M1 visas through the student exchange programme.

M1 visas are issued to all students, who are not US citizens or residents. If you wish to have one or more of your family members (dependants) accompany you through out your training; an M1 visa may be issued to them as well.

  • Visas are issued based on the course duration
  • M1 visas do not allow you to work in the United States
  • An I-20 form will be issued by the school, you must have a signed original to obtain M1 visa
  • You are required to report to the school within three days of the course start date on the I-20 form.

If you know you will not be able to arrive to school by the specified date on your I-20 from you must notify your admissions coordinator to avoid problems entering the United States.
